We continue to view pulsing as an add-on with no proven therapeutic benefit in LED-based human therapy lights. The only factors that determine effectiveness are output power and spectrum—areas where our lights are superior to all others.

For best results, we recommend running our lights without
pulsing. That said, we added the pulsing feature to the NIR lights on our
BIOMAX Pro units due to customer demand for those who wish to experiment. We are simply giving our customers the ability to use the BIOMAX PRO in any manner that they wish.

Quick answer: Single chip LEDs are superior to dual-chip/multi-chip LEDs in every aspect.

Dual-chip or multi-chip LEDs , which can emit two or four wavelengths simultaneously (such as 660nm and 850nm), are less effective because each wavelength is produced in a very small amount due to the smaller chip size. The sum of the dual chips is far below that of a single chip and thus the comparative output is inferior. A dual/multi-chip LEDs is not as powerful as a superior single chip LED.

Our approach is to use high-quality single-frequency LEDs to ensure powerful and effective light therapy with optimal distribution across the panel and in a perfected ratio according to the bodies window of spectral absorption. This design provides an output and physiological response that far exceeds that of a dual-chip design.

Contrary to the marketing efforts put out by sellers of lights using these dual chips, the individual frequencies received by the body are indeed completely blended when reaching the target area ensuring this maximum physiological response. Beyond this, since all frequencies must be locked by the dual chip design, the ratio of the wavelengths used are impossible to be optimized as per the correct coefficient of spectral absorption by the human body which even further lessens the efficacy of these types of lights. The simple reason that makers of these lights utilize an even blend of wavelengths is not science based but rather a mathematical requirement of the dual/multi-chip design.

So why do they use them? Purely as a marketing gimmick to appear superior in some fashion. That's it. 2 or 4 is better than 1, right? No, it's not.

This spectral output is perfected for human therapy use as the
entire science of human therapy lights is emitting a spectral output that
matches as close as possible to the body's own coefficient of spectral
absorption.  By efficiently emitting as close as possible to what the body
will absorb within the studied therapeutic "action zones", we're able
to maximize the production of ATP and mitochondrial stimulation.  This is
the science of red/NIR light therapy.

The peak absorption of the human body is at 660nm and 850nm to achieve our desired physiological affects. Around these peaks is a curve downwards of lessening absorption as the wavelengths go farther from the peak. The power of spectral output is to emit a combined spectrum that adheres to this principal of peak emission with lessening levels of lower frequencies.
