As a general rule of thumb, we’ve found that 10-20 minutes per treatment area at a distance of around 8”-14” for deep tissue or 16"-24" for superficial facial skin therapy on bare skin with a max of 2-3 treatment areas per day to be a great average usage guideline for basically all applications. We recommend using light therapy at least 3 to 5 times a week for optimal results. We would suggest to start slower/farther at first and then work your way up to the closer distance/longer exposure once your tolerance to the light has been found. 

We also do recommend caution with using the NIR array on any areas of the body that may have pre-existing hyperpigmentation concerns as this type of light may aggravate this condition. We recommend to use red only on these areas.

Optional eye protection is included with all lights for our customers that wish to use it. However, this is optional and not required for use. Contrary to many misconceptions and misinformation out there, there is no exact type/frequency of light emitted from our lights that is specifically more or less dangerous than any other type/frequency. What can be harmful to eyes is the intensity of a light.. not the actually type of light that its emitting. For this reason, we ask to please never look directly into the panels due to this intensity. You would take the same precautions with our lights as you would with any other very intense light by not looking directly into them. Many users either close their eyes or look to the sides of the lights while in use.

All BIOMAX lights feature the unique ability to independently digitally control the output intensity of the R+ (red) array and the NIR+ (NIR) array by dimming them from 0% - 100%. The R+ array contains the 630nm and 660nm wavelengths while the NIR+ contains the 810nm, 830nm, 850nm and 1060nm wavelengths. The blue/480nm LEDs are separately controlled on their own and they can be deactivated if you wish without affecting the rest of the LEDs.

Yes.  All of the BIOMAX series of lights that are now shipping are the Gen 9 units with the ability to independently control the blue 480nm light.  To turn off the blue simply go to the 'Set' menu and make sure the button labeled 'Blue' is not highlighted.  

We have thousands of  customers who use our lights without stands every day.  Some people use the included over the door hanging kit, while others may lean it against the wall or a desk.  One popular method is laying down next to the unit on a yoga mat.  Feel free to get creative!

Our therapy lights are designed for general wellness purposes and have not been tested specifically for use with pacemakers. Therefore, we recommend consulting with your physician before using the BIOMAX light if you have a pacemaker or any other electronic implant.

No, we do not work with "pulsed" lighting as this is entirely a marketing gimmick with absolutely zero proven benefit in an LED based human therapy light. The only two factors that determine the effectiveness of a light are the power of the output and the spectrum that it is emitting. That's it. That's what creates a therapy light and this is what we deliver in superiority to all other lights.

It is important to clarify that, from a scientific standpoint, there is no necessity to control individual wavelengths within a red or near-infrared (NIR) spectrum. Claims suggesting otherwise are purely marketing tactics without any scientific merit. The concept hinges on emitting a spectral output that closely matches the body's own rate of spectral absorption, known as the coefficient of spectral absorption. Joules are the measurements of light energy received over time, not the amount of light energy that is being emitted from a light. The correct measurement for light emission is mW/cm2 and these figures are shown in an infographic directly on the BIOMAX page.  We HIGHLY recommend following our simple dosage recommendations rather than trying to figure out how many Joules you need per treatment. 

All models/sizes of the BIOMAX lights target and accomplish the same exact benefits – the only difference is the physical size of the light in terms of number of LEDs used and physical dimensions.

All BIOMAX lights are modular in nature and connect to each other both physically and digitally to form any size of array you wish.

The larger the light or light setup, the greater the coverage and overall light output. The larger the array of multiple light that you create with the BIOMAX lights, the more of your body you are covering in a single session with more and more overall light output and results.

The BIOMAX 900 can run at the increased output (490w) in Solo mode. The reason why the output is slightly lower in Remote mode (380w), is in order to allow you to run all four units on one 15/20Amp breaker. Running all four at the increase output would be too much for a single breaker. Rest assured, you are still getting amazing intensity and benefits in either mode.

Blue/480nm wavelengths of light have been used in high level dermatology for many years and have numerous skin and anti-aging benefits.  Studies have shown it to be beneficial for applications such as rosacea, psoriasis, anti-aging, acne and sun damage reversal among many others.

Our BIOMAX models include a patent-pending R+ | NIR+ spectral output with seven wavelengths: 480nm, 630nm, 660nm, 810nm, 830nm, 850nm, and 1060nm. Mid or far range infrared wavelengths are typically experienced as heat rather than light energy and are not produced as LEDs for our market. The chosen amount of each wavelength for our BIOMAX models matches closely to the body's coefficient of spectral absorption within the therapeutic 'action zones' to maximize ATP production and mitochondrial stimulation, which is key to effective light therapy.

We believe that dual chip LEDs are marketing gimmick. Some companies claim that their panels use dual-chip LED bulbs. On the surface, this looks like higher light output, but again, it is a false claim. No medical-grade LED devices contain dual-chip bulbs.

There are dual-chip LED bulbs that are the same size as the single-chip bulbs used in LED light therapy devices; however, they use two very small chips side by side. Dual-chip bulbs do not deliver more light energy output because their summed power is still less than a larger, single chip LED.

There is no benefit, but there are disadvantages to dual-chip bulbs, including less reliability. The close proximity of the chips can lead to burnout. Dual-chip LEDs are capable of delivering two separate wavelengths simultaneously (such as 660nm and 850nm). But because you’re only getting a very small amount of each wavelength due to the extra small chips, this is basically like using an underpowered handheld device. 

No.  OurBIO-Series lights are not compatible with the BIOMAX Stands.  The BIOMAX Stands found on ourBIOMAX Mounting Systems page are only compatible with ourBIOMAX Series lights. 

We have two horizontal options for over a bed or massage table. The BIOMAX Horizontal Stand can hold one or two BIOMAX lights of the same width and the BIOMAX XL Motorized Horizontal Stand which includes a remote control for raising and lower the lights  can hold one, two, or  four BIOMAX units of the same width.

Please note that all of the stands are sold separately, and the Multi-Light packages only include the lights. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need any assistance in selecting the right setup for your needs.

While we do have many customers that choose to use the horizontal stand in the vertical position, this is not the intended usage of this type of stand so we will not guarantee it.  Some customers have found that the base of the stand gets in the way of a comfortable application while others have had no problem with it.  Since we always want to ensure complete satisfaction, we simply state that the intended usage of the stand is in the horizontal position while the vertical orientation is intended for storage.  In the end, you may of course use the stand in any manner that you wish.

Please note, the functionality of the Simple Remote is  limited to running all the lights for 20 minutes at full power. There is no way to adjust the timer using the simple remote.

If your lights are not responding to the Simple Remote, the wireless communication may have been turned off in error.  Please hard press the 'On' button for at least 5 seconds until the indicator light blinks.  Once complete single press the 'On' button and see if the lights illuminate. 

The BIOMAX series of lights have a maximum operating temperature of 130 F.

We recommend our SaunaMAX Pro for use in high temp and high moisture environments. They have an operating temperature of up to 150 F. The SaunaMAX is a slightly less powerful light and not as advanced as the BIOMAX light, because it uses smaller LEDs instead of the larger LEDs used on the BIOMAX due to temperature considerations.  Keep in mind the size of the LEDs is only a partly responsible for the intensity we are able to produce with these lights.  The SaunaMAX Pro is still a very powerful unit!

The optional Shipping Protection covers your purchase in the case of a loss due to carrier mis-delivery to an incorrect address but stating your own address which normally a carrier will not cover. This extra coverage is entire optional and you may decline it at checkout.

We offer a 60-day satisfaction guarantee for LED panels only.  Please note that the customer is responsible for shipping costs for non-defective returns.  Once we receive your return, we will inspect the product and issue a refund. However, there is a 20% restocking fee for elective returns. If your lights are not working, we provide a 3-year warranty, and will replace the unit if it malfunctions for any reason. Warranty claims are also assessed on a case-by-case basis and may include replacement parts or troubleshooting support. Please be aware that the warranty does not cover customer damage or misuse.
